Entre sels d’argent et plumes d’oiseaux du paradis, l’exposition pose un regard vaporeux sur les coiffes de la belle époque. Vers 1910, son envergure oscille entre 40 et 50 cm. Les plumes font fureur et des oiseaux entiers se posent parfois sur la tête de ces dames. L’usage du ruban est également démesuré. Pour accommoder l'énorme calotte de ces chapeaux dinosaures, la coiffure des femmes gagne en volume grâce aux mèches postiches et aux rouleaux de crin.
